I was bowled over by that film.Īs is my natural compulsion, I went all the way to the back of the room to find a table to myself (because I'm antisocial by nature, not because I'm arrogant or snobby or anything like that) but every table was full of people. I want to give it a more concentrated viewing. The film is also at their library to check out, but I hope they have more than one copy because I want to check it out, too. My question (like geebs, was I ever going to get to it, right?) is this: If you have a copy, what is your impression of this little book? Also, is there another book out there for those looking to develop and abide a prayer rule that I should be looking to pick up in the near future?Ĭlick to expand. You were there? Then you missed a great documentary. I didn't even know this section was in the little red book before I picked it out. As soon as I hit the pew, I would grab the Liturgy book and the children's Liturgy book from the rack and be going back and forth with each of them throughout the service in a vain attempt to unconfuse myself. I know it won't be verbatim for all Liturgies, but it should help me follow along. I also noticed, and was surprised to discover, that it has the Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom. I have been trying to get going on a prayer rule, and this little book has morning, afternoon, and evening prayers. And I loved the idea of this little red pocket book that I could easily carry around with me. I may still pick that one up, but this one will do just fine for now. Before I knew that this bookstore would hold books for you until you can pay for them, (very nice, because sometimes you see a title you want, and then when you have the money and come back, it's gone) I had found another prayer book, a blue one.
